WHAT IS SONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS?
Sonic Security Systems is a home alarm company that specialises in tailored security solutions for both homes and businesses. Despite competing with much larger companies, Sonic’s goal is to deliver the most effective solution based on the specific needs of the property being secured, in contrast to the one-size-fits-all approach used by bigger firms.
WHAT DID WE NEED TO DO?
When I joined, Sonic was hardly more than just a name.
I was brought in to change that. The owner had one key request for the project: he wanted the brand to be recognisable, adaptable, and traditional. This was because all three of these elements are crucial in the home security industry.
Recognisable: We needed to design for security and legitimacy, so creating a brand that was recognizable was paramount.
A strong brand image encourages confidence and trust, which is essential for a company that secures homes.
Adaptable: This was about wanting to express what Sonic was about; answering security problems no matter what the circumstances.
Traditional : As a smaller outfit we were weary of reinventing the wheel, we still needed to look like a home alarm company to the market we needed to reach.

My job was to create that brand, build an online presence and adapt the brand into any digital or physical needs.
Throughout my time with Sonic I spearheaded the creation of flyers, signage, a social presence, developed a content workflow and numerous other little bits to help Sonic look like the slick operation we were aiming for.
