Grid animations (old)

As my research report for the journal app is not yet ready for publication, I have decided to revisit some old GIFs that I created. These animations were made entirely through Photoshop and were an attempt at developing a distinct animation style. I drew each frame individually, using video stills as reference points. This process is known as rotoscoping and involved me manipulating my own grid to fill in each section of the grid based on the movement depicted in each still.

The progress was to then add some movement to the isometric grid. Creating a more compelling flow.

Here I decided to experiment with an hexagonal grid with bigger gaps between cells. I also added a wave to the grid to simulate an effect of alcohol.
