Different Gestures

While I’ve been working on Jotty, my idea for a gesture based journaling mobile app.
I’ve been naturally thinking a lot more about the gestures we can do on our mobiles.

While researching I couldn’t find any nice animated GIFS illustrating these gestures so I said ‘screw it’ and started making my own.

Please enjoy what I’ve made so far. :)

Tap

The most important interaction on a today’s smart phones.
Used to Activate/deactivate, Highlight, type etc.
Note: can be assisted with some light haptic feed back.

Pinch Gesture

A multi touch gesture meaning it requires two fingers.
In this case it’s being used to make precise resizing adjustments on a graphic of a very lovely lighthouse.

Swipe Gesture

The sexiest of all the gestures in my opinion.
can be used to move through content such as photos or switch through apps.
Also as seen in the example used commonly in dating apps.

Spread Gesture

Another multi-touch two finger gesture.
Often used to zoom in on content or make text bigger.

In this case it’s being used to zoom into an image of a charming sail boat.

More to come :)
